Is there a way to get these to turn on before it is completely black outside?

Mounting these is a snap. They give you all the options you need to mount the solar panel and the lights. The only issue I have had so far is that I can’t turn them on. It is possible that you can ONLY use them when they think it’s dark enough? I waited until dusk and was able to get them to turn on, but only for a few seconds. Maybe it wasn’t dark enough? I wonder how/if you can bypass the automatic on/off so you can turn them on when YOU want them on.
